About

JimNonProfit Web Design, or as we call it, NP Web Design, was started by Jim Lockwood in Elk Grove, California. Jim’s career started as a master’s level social worker who has spent more than 20 years as an administrator, director and trainer in the areas of youth services and developmental disabilities. Jim has served as executive director for three nonprofit organizations, including a California statewide association.

While directing one of these organizations, Jim began to recognize the power of the Internet to carry out the agency’s mission. He contracted with a company to design the organization’s website, costing several thousand dollars. This included a website maintenance and hosting agreement for nearly $700 a month.

Realizing that this was a lot of money to spend, even on a state-of-the-art website, Jim began exploring other website options. This lead to his first website design class at the local college where he soon became hooked on website development and design. It wasn’t long before he recreated the organization’s website, and dumped the expensive website services. In his spare time, he developed websites for other organizations and even started a couple blogs and websites of his own.

After receiving more requests for nonprofit website services, Jim started NP Web Design. With the help of a couple talented programmers and designers, NP Web Design now provides low cost, fully functional and highly effective websites to nonprofits, churches and organizations.
